How It Works
The mean is the sum of all values divided by the count. The median is the middle value when the numbers are sorted — or the average of the two middle values if the count is even.
The mode is the value that appears most often. If every value appears exactly once, there is no mode. If multiple values tie for most frequent, all of them are listed.
The range is the difference between the largest and smallest values. All calculations run in your browser.
Frequently Asked Questions
What if there is no mode?
If every number in your list appears exactly the same number of times, the result shows "No mode" because no single value is more frequent than the others.
How is the median calculated with an even count?
When there is an even number of values, the median is the average of the two middle values after sorting. For example, the median of 1, 2, 3, 4 is (2 + 3) / 2 = 2.5.
Can there be more than one mode?
Yes. If two or more values tie for the highest frequency, all of them are shown as modes. This is called a multimodal distribution.
